STATIC Solutions the 21st century Baltimore Catechism

What the Baltimore Catechism was for the 19th Century STATIC is for the 21st Century – it recognizes the basic needs and capacities of the local community and provides a process that quite simply works. I give the STATIC program and STATIC Solutions, LLC my highest recommendation.
    Westland, Michigan (STATICWEB) 12, August, 2009 --
STATIC Solutions, LLC a leader in middle school faith formation received a letter of recommendation of highest praise for quality solid Catholic formation material. The following letter will be sent in to the Archdiocese of Detroit as part of our effort to receive an imprimatur for our innovative programming.

    To Whom This May Concern
STATIC Programming is an excellent program and I believe that every parish should be utilizing each and every dimension. St. Theodore of Canterbury parish has been using the STATIC programming exclusively for our Middle School students since the fall of 2004. What began as a process to challenge our students to take on a more adult attitude regarding their own faith lives provided not only an exceptional experience with a sound theological foundation; rich biblical principles and fruitful interpersonal dynamics; it also challenged their parents and general parish as well.
After over 30 years of experience working with adolescents and pre-adolescents I went looking for a Religious Education process or program that would not only keep these older students from becoming bored but that would encourage their unique process in faith formation and learning. STATIC Small Group provides the process that not only teaches the students more about understanding and living their faith but in a way that allows them to interact with the information and with one another. The STATIC Large Group activities, which is more of a youth group based activities, gives the students a place to be in faith while having fun and in the whole process learning more about their faith and how to live it. And the program doesn’t just stop there. The journals for each grade level and the exceptional three years Service Process the possibilities are endless.
STATIC Solutions LLC continues to come out each year with new and innovative ideas such as newsletters, retreats and more I know that we will be able to provide a vital, nurturing program for decades to come. What the Baltimore Catechism was for the 19th Century STATIC is for the 21st Century – it recognizes the basic needs and capacities of the local community and provides a process that quite simply works. I give the STATIC program and STATIC Solutions, LLC my highest recommendation. I remain,
    Your Servant in Christ,

Forgiveness

Yesterday I was able to enjoy one of my favorite pastimes, debating my faith. I love to challenge people, be challenged and to talk my Catholic Faith, with anyone willing to listen. Yesterdays debate was lively yet no harsh words or bad feelings followed.
This friend was not my normal debate partner, normally when I talk [...]

I’ll Pray for you…

As Catholics we often times use the stock response of I’ll pray for you, but what we really mean is, that’s nice… leave me alone.
So what brings on this statement of condemnation, why so judgmental? Well, I am an owner of a Catholic business and was partners in a Catholic Book/Gift shop in the [...]

Let us never forget….

Let us never forget the sacrifice of Americans in the fight for freedom. The firefighters and officers of the law, the office managers and the custodians alike. Let us never forget the lost of mom’s and dad’s in the fight for freedom, the aunts and uncles and the friends that never were.
Let us never [...]

Jesus, A Slave Master?

A friend and I have an ongoing joke about being liberal or conservative, I being the conservative. Today as we chatted online was no different, it always seems that one of us (mostly me) will some how manage to bring it around to being a liberal or a conservative.
It’s all in fun.. or is [...]

Dick Tracy

Over the weekend I played lazy, I stayed in all day Saturday and watched old movies on TCM. They had a Dick Tracy marathon. I watched 4 old Dick Tracy movies than the newest one with Warren Beatty and Madonna. I have not seen that flick on years, and I always like that movie. It’s [...]

Twittered yet?

Update: Sitting at my desk
Update: Still sitting at my desk
Update: same as before…
Do people really care what I am doing moment from moment? I would think not, but I seem to be in the minority of thinkers out there, with twitter, my space and facebook, it seems that feel that our every moment must be [...]

Dante’s words

I often have discussions with my friends and family on this very topic, I even gave a talk on it once to a group of young adults for a Theology on Tap session, and for any one who was a fan of Seinfeld, this very topic was what the final episode was all about.
"The [...]

A new Start…

Last Sunday I had the privilege of watching the youth  of my parish receive the sacrament of confirmation. I have witness this event many times over the years, and it always makes me proud to know that I had a little bit to do with it.
I was honored to be a small part of [...]

Peter, Jesus and the Fonz

Acts 4:1-12
1 While they were still talking to the people the priests came up to them, accompanied by the captain of the Temple and the Sadducees.
2 They were extremely annoyed at their teaching the people the resurrection from the dead by proclaiming the resurrection of Jesus.
3 They arrested them, and, as it [...]

Thomas

How easy it is for us to say “I would have more faith if I was there, If I would have saw Jesus walking around after His crucifixion.”  or “If I was Thomas, I wouldn’t have doubted” Playing a Monday morning quarter back is easy, 2000 years later.
But would we, would we really have believed? [...]
